verydistinct: Eliot holding up his hand, trying to gain trust probably? (Trust me; the hand's not evil)

[For once, the PCD turns on when 'Kenneth' intended it to. When he does, he's leaning back against the couch in his house and looking more serious than the times people have talked to him over the network.]

I generally don't do this kind of thing, but all this lying is starting to get to me for some reason. My name's not Kenneth Crane, and I'm not a country singer. I'm Eliot Spencer; a... retrieval specialist that's part of this pro bono team. The guitar thing?

[He reaches off camera, grabbing the instrument by the neck and showing it on camera. After tossing it to spin, catching it before it hits anything, he puts it back off to the side.]

Our client was hurt and deprived of a lot of things by a record executive. To even things out, we started what's called a Fiddle Game; a con. So everything was part of an alias, keeping in with the role. I kept with it and lied because I've made a lot of enemies. So it was better that I kept the alias in case some of those enemies actually showed up.

Anyway, I'm sorry about the deception. I'm a man of my word though, so everything offered still stands. Lessons and other services are still open as long as you're okay with that.

...

That's all.

[Yeah, just... turning off the feed now.]

[[Evented Eliot is now extremely open, honest and prone to feeling a little guilty and charitable. Take advantage! Also if you haven't filled it out, here's a permission post for his observational skills.]]

No, I insist. You would not deny a lady a simple request, would you, Mr. Crane? Or would you prefer Mr. Spencer now?

[She raises an eyebrow.]

Reading for certain traits? Such a phrase makes little sense to me, sir.

What is the difference between this Sunday and the next? Your information will not change in that time, nor my response to such information. Why not say it now, Mr. Spencer?

I know not of such people at home, but I would be a fool to think the Prince does not have someone able to do such a thing among his retainers or guards.

[She thinks a moment.]

If you will not tell me of Lord Saxon, then tell me something you have learned through such observations of someone else whom I know.

You are impossible. Has anyone told you so, Mr. Spencer? I doubt either will change in that time.

[She really hasn't paid attention to whom he knows that she knows as well, so she thinks of someone she knows well enough that even his base reading could prove his skill.]

Tell me of Hanna Cross, then, Mr. Spencer. And I shall tell you whether you have the right of him.

[She listens carefully, feeling more put out the more she hears. She isn't pleased that he has the right of Hanna's character. So she'll focus on something he's said that she doesn't like, to give herself what she feels is a legitimate reason for her upset.]

Unless a man is dangerous, you do not see him as a priority, Mr. Spencer? Do you view everyone in terms of being a potential threat, and dismiss whomever does not seem to be as being of little note? Would it not prove more beneficial to you to befriend those who are kind, rather than dismiss them as being of little interest?

Meaning that you do not respect Lord Saxon, as you have seen fit to delve into his life in greater detail than Hanna's. What injury has he done to you that has made you look upon him with disrespect?

[It seems unrelated to her, and it throws her off for a moment.]

I have been under its effects once that was not directly related to the Animus' tricks, and I do not like it. I do not like the lack of control. Only the Lord may take away our free will. That is His purview.

[She blinks at this information, trying to make it fit with everything she knew of her friend.]

He - he was likely scared, but did not wish to admit to such a thing. Men will say foolish things when they wish to appear brave. My cousin does this often. I have seen his reaction from the devices, after I returned home, and seen the concern he displayed for me. He has never attempted such things upon me, Mr. Spencer. Never. And if he told Madara such things, it was likely an attempt to enrage the man and loosen his hold upon us all. Men who are enraged cannot control things easily, and this I know to be true, regardless of what it is they control. And he was part of the party which rescued us all - hardly something one would do if he felt no sympathy for those taken.

If he does possess such a tool, then the other Lord of Time must possess it as well. And that one, I do not trust. What have your observations told you of him, of the Doctor?

He has told me that he had done horrible things in his past. But I see no reason to judge him on them here, when he has been so kind to me. If he wishes to make a clean start for himself in the city, he should be allowed to do so, as should we all. And if he had done something of a similar nature in the past, it would make sense that he consider his skill versus that of the one who harmed us. His knowledge of such tricks may be what was able to save us.

[She nods.]

So far as I understand such things. He and Lord Saxon have known each other for hundreds of years, from what Lord Saxon has said. They were friends, but the man betrayed their friendship, and has rebuffed every attempt Lord Saxon has made to forgive him and make amends. He has done Lord Saxon a grave injury, and still my friend offers a hand of friendship to him. To hear he may be dangerous does not surprise me in the least.

What I need and what you think I need, Mr. Spencer, may be two entirely different things.
