5th Con [Video]

[The video turns on and, once again, it catches Eliot outside shirtless while working outside in the early afternoon. This time it's chopping wood, having found some with fungus growing along the outside of it. This keeps up for a good couple more minutes until something interrupts.

A green apple hitting his back when putting more wood on the stump for breaking. Looking around, as if expecting that someone had thrown it, he mutters when noticing the apple. Picking it up, there's a calculating look for a bit... then tossed a ltitle and caught.]

Hah ha.

[Let's just say... Eliot likes green apples. This is the happiest he's been about something for a while. He takes a bite before looking up to see the other apples that are around. Nodding with a grin he walks over to the PCD having actually intended to start an entry but... technology gets the upper hand on him again.]

Ah, shit...

[No matter, right?]

So, if anyone's needing help filling their wood stock, I've got some extra that hasn't been broken up yet. Different varieties, and I've got some good kindling to share. If there's a furnace or forge, I can get to working on making some charcoal as well.  As for the apples-

[Takes a bite, chews on it a little and swallowing before continuing.]

I can probably write up a few recipes and put down alternative ingredients that could also be used. This is a lot better than the last couple events.

Also, as many require waiting to finish setting, it might be ready by the time you get back to your den.

Also when the weather is colder, part of the lessons will go into learning how to make soups and stews. Learning to make the broth, and getting familiar with adding ingredients at different points.

[Because as much of a loner Eliot is, sometimes kids can be a weak point. Even if they're teenagers. He's not sure if he'll manage to say no when she tries a teaparty. Also he'll leave the liquor at the bar. No bringing it home, even if Nepeta knows not to snoop around for his items of 'interest.']

I started to learn back in high school, and it just kinda stuck. So I continued some classes since then.

[She'd actually approve of that very much. Nothing like having versatile skills.]

A place for teenagers to learn. Most schools have about 30 kids to a single teacher for each subject they're learning. Math, science, social studies, there's a period for physical activities, and the rest of the subjects can vary from student to student.

That sounds like fun! Humans come up with so furry many interesting things to do.

You'll probably learn about the holidays and how they're celebrated soon enough. A lot of the people around here seem the type to bring it to the network.

Ohh I'd like that! I've nefure celebrated a human holiday befur!

Then it's a good thing that it's the beginning of the season for these big holidays. After this, some might celebrate Thanksgiving or Guy Fawkes next month, but the next big ones are in December for a few winter holidays.

No need to rush. You'll learn them like a lot of people when they're coming up.

Learning it all at once might mix you up for next year, if you're still around then. Learn it with everyone else and it'll be easier to remember what's done when.

First is Halloween, coming at the end of the month. Some people decorate and get costumes to wear for the evening. There'll probably be a party or two on that night, too. Watch the network, and the holidays will probably come up in time.
